DESCRIPTION: France, 3 piece mantel garniture, black slate drumhead case with columns and inset contrasting marble panels, the case front with beveled glass, applied gilt spelter ornament and animal paw feet, Arabic numeral white enamel dial with sunken center, signed "Philippe & Boisseri Rouen", Brocot open escapement, blued steel hands, 8 days, time and strike, Pendule a Paris movement signed Marti, faux mercury pendulum, with two candelabras of matching materials, design and ornament, c1880
CONDITION: Case with possible repairs, some slate has been painted black, some ornaments regilt or repainted and reattached to the case, not all ornament sits flush to case surface, glass in case front glued in place and with excess glue on exposed surfaces, dial with hairlines at 9:00 - 10:00, hands painted black, pendulum replaced, movement ticks and strikes, candelabra with chips and flakes, one with larger chip at right front corner, and replaced rear feet, candleholders and supports painted, some with minor bends, clock Ht 181/2", candelabra Ht 25 1/2"
